Welcome!

I am an infectious diseases physician by training, currently working at the intersection of communicable disease surveillance and data science, with a particular passion for R and its applications in health analytics. On this website, I have combined my love for the tidyverse and my interest for reproducible workflows using Quarto. It serves as a personal reference that includes a collection of R functions I often revisit, common tasks I tend to forget and usually search for, and new concepts I am picking up along the way. I hope you and my future self find this useful! Take a look around if you’re curious about me and my work.

Beyond my professional work, I am a voracious reader with a deep appreciation for the shelves of my local libraries. From the cozy spaces of North Sydney Library to the vibrant venues of the City of Sydney Library network and now the family-friendly atmosphere of Subiaco Library in sunny Perth, each has offered a space to recalibrate and dream. These libraries have been places where I can be fully immersed in thought, wander through my imagination, and momentarily disconnect from the harshness of the world. I am always grateful for the breadth of their collections.

I am proud that this website isn’t perfect, because I’m not either! Thanks to the ever-brilliant James Totterdell for the idea of keeping track of the important things in Quarto, and Nick Tierney for the mentorship, inspiration, and encouragement to build it and make it publicly available.
